Very Last Operational Landing in History @ KLM B747

Chief Pilot Paul vd Ven was honoured to operate the last operational 747 flight. It would be the very very last 747 flight in KLM history during the flightoperations of KLM. In view of the 90% decline in flights and anticipated future capacity, KLM previously decided in early March that it would phase out its remaining Boeing 747s in April 2020, instead of in the summer of 2021. Last KLM 747 Toronto Flight @ First Officer Froukje Dinkla

First Officer Froukje Dinkla did have a wish………….operating another ‘Last 747 Flight’ with Toronto as final destination……………and that happened……… Thursday 26th of March she left for Toronto and came back with flight KL692 , callsign KL86, at 28th of March. Flight KL86 got operated with the B747-Combi reg PH-BFT and wingman Cpt Remco Hoekstra. On short final she showed us a double ‘Wingroll Salute’ and landed at runway 06. Cool detail is her husband GJ and children Daren and Yue joined the landing as well.     Videostills………..

Last Toronto Flight on 747 @ FO Martin Sievers & Cpt Rod ten Berg

First Officer Martin Sievers and Captain Rod ten Berg made their last ‘Toronto Flight’ on KLM B747. Last ‘Ladies Flight’ on 747 @ Shanghai

A very special ‘747 ladies flight’to Shanghai. In order of our Dutch Government KLM was asked to fly to Shanghai for important medical cargo. Right now there is a special cargo bridge between Amsterdam and China. There are 5 weekly flights. AMS-ICN-PEK  (2x) and AMS-ICN-PVG (3x) The first PVG-Shanghai flight was operated at 23rd of March. And it was a female crew operating KL895. Captain Sibbelien de Laere,First Officer’s Helen Hüpscher-Bakker and Sabine den Hollander,Second Officer Ilana Iskander. First Officer B747 Froukje Dinkla on her last outbound 747 flight from LAX and arrival on homebase Amsterdam Airport. Togehter with Captain Wout Stengs and Second Officer Melvin Hanemaaijer they suddenly operated their last of one and a last 747 flight in career.
