Last Flight of Cpt Michael ‘Pants’ van den Broek @ KLM
Captain Michael made his last flight due to retirement at KLM.
A last flight with destination Capetown. Michael got assisted by first officer Patrick Valkering as his’Wingman’.
Michael ‘Pants’ vd Broek has been F16 pilot. Michael trained Patrick on the T-37 at the Royal Dutch Airforce.
T-37 is the trainings aircraft before the step into the F16.
On friday the 16th of October flight KL597, callsign KLM105-Heavy, was planned on stand E24 and a RWY18L departure.
Because of the technical delay it would be RWY24 but got recleared to RWY18L again.
A nice departure with a B777-200 reg PHBQL.
In the south of France there was occurring a problem with water pressure and so they got diverted back to Amsterdam.
Landed on RWY27 around 14:50PM
In the evening I was towing the aircraft to the hangar for maintenance.
Happily Michael and Patrick could fly again,2nd attempt, to Capetown next morning , saturday the 17th.
The aircraft was positioned at stand E18.
Their flight got recleared from RWY36C to RWY36L and operated with a B777-300ER reg PHBVW.
On Tuesday the 20th of October captain Michael came back with his returnflight to Amsterdam Airport.
A slight crosswindlanding on RWY06 and operated with another B777-300ER reg PHBVN.
