Wingroll Salute 747 & Last MEX Flight @ CA Mariëlle Heslinga-Groen

CA II Mariëlle and her crew made their Farewell 747 flight to MEX. Their backflight was a repatriationflight with a 747 Fullpax.

In view of the 90% decline in flights and anticipated future capacity, KLM previously decided in early March that it would phase out its remaining Boeing 747s in April 2020,

instead of in the summer of 2021.

Together with Captain Johan Danen,First Officer Jurgen Vissers and Second Officer Olivier Witteveen they departed on 22rd of March.

A RWY09 departure………..after lining up…………full throttle and operating a fantastic ‘Wingroll Salute’.

Flight KL685 got operated with the B747-Combi reg PH-BFV.

This time it was a 2 day operation for cockpit- and cabincrew. Backflight KL686 , with callsign KLM72-Yankee-Heavy arrived on tuesday 24th of March.

KLM72Yankee was operated with a B747-Fullpax reg PH-BFN and landed on RWY 18R
