Last Flight on KLM B747 // KL601 // PH-BFW @ Captain Michiel van Leeuwen

Captain Michiel van Leeuwen suddenly had to make his last 747 flight at the 19th of March 2020.

The news all KLM B747’s should taken out of service within two weeks hit everyone right into the heart.

First the 747’s should keep on flying until May 2021 with PBM as last destination. But due to the current worldwide circumstances caused by the corona debacle………..the 747’s

made their last operational flights in history. Almost 50 years of service………

Captain Michiel got LAX – Los Angeles as last destionation. Together with his ‘wingmans’ first officer’s Michael de Jong and Leo Shoemacher operating their

‘B747 Farewell Flight’.

Flight KL601 lining up on RWY  36L after their last ‘747 Bokito Call’ and a fabulous wingroll salute. Disappearing into the clouds very quick caused to a low forecast.

That was looking amazing………………….

They did fly back on Monday the 23rd of March. Unfortunately I was’nt able to capture their last 747 landing…..

Videostills……..
