Last Flight of Captain Erik Dümpel @ KLM
Captain Erik Dümpel got his retirementflight in a special and heartwarming way at KLM.
One and a half month prior to his retirement he was’nt able to fly anymore caused by a medical issue.
However KLM offered Captain Erik his own retirementflight heading for Capetown and back Amsterdam.
Erik was the non-flying “Wingman” on this flight which got operated by Captains Emile van der Stel and Bart Bleys, and second officer Louisette Agema.
Flight KL595 (2nd daily flight to CPT) , stand E19, with a runway 24 departure and operated with a B777-200 reg PHBQP.
Backflight KL598,callsign KLM104-Heavy, got a nice approach along the coast and very smooth landing on runway 18R.
After vacating the runway at V3 taxying to final stand E8.
