Captain Erik Dümpel got his retirementflight in a special and heartwarming way at KLM. One and a half month prior to his retirement he was’nt able to fly anymore caused by a medical issue. However KLM offered Captain Erik his own retirementflight heading for Capetown and back Amsterdam. Erik was the non-flying “Wingman” on this flight which got operated by Captains Emile van der Stel and Bart Bleys, and second officer Louisette Agema.
