Last Flight of Captain John van Limburg Stirum @ Transavia
Captain John van Limburg Stirum made his last flight due to retirement at Transavia.
John got assisted by Frederik van der Brugh as his ‘Wingman’ and joined by his family.
His final destination was Malaga and back homebase Amsterdam Airport.
Flight HV6115 , AMS-AGP and callsign TRA3T, got operated with a B737-800 reg PHHSI.
This is the special ‘Peter Pan Edition’. HV6115 got a pushback at stand D49 and taxying for a RWY24 departure.
Backflight HV6116, callsign TRA1B, was planned for a landing on RWY18R.
But…………when entering the Dutch airspace they got surprised by the clearance for a landing on RWY06.
They could’nt reach me on freq 123.450 because of the distance.
Happily I paid attention to older people who made a remark about planes landing on an other runway too when passing me in behind.
When checking, with the thought about RWY27 it seemed to be RWY06.
Running with my equipment from treshold to my car and decided to go for RWY06 although I did’nt hear a clearance on Amsterdam Radar South yet.
After a short while I intercepted the atc when driving and heared the airtrafficcontroller saying ‘does’nt Bokito know you got runway 06 for landing now?’.
So I did let the V8 growl and was on location and started filming the landing just 5 seconds before landing.
Videostills……….
