Last MEX Flight on B747 // PHBFL // KL685 @ Cpt Roland Hofmeester

Captain Roland Hofmeester suddenly had to make his last MEX flight on the B747. In view of the 90% decline in flights and anticipated future capacity, KLM previously decided in early March that it would phase out its remaining Boeing 747s in April 2020, instead of in the summer of 2021. Flight KL685 with a RWY 36L departure on 25th of March 2020. After takeoff a slight wingroll salute and operated with the B747-Fullpax reg PH-BFL. Last 747 Flight on KLM72Y-KL686 // PH-BFV @ FO Martin Sievers // Cpt Fred Heijer

First Officer Martin Sievers made his last flight on his beloved 747………….intially…………but after this flight he got invited for another and his final 747 flight with destination YYZ- Toronto. This flight,KL686 with callsign KLM72-Yankee, was his last flight onthe 747 to MEX and back Amsterdam. Together with Captain Fred Heijer and Second Officer Yurrian Valkema on track for Amsterdam Airport. This flight got operated with the B747-Combi reg ‘PH-BFV’. Captain Michel Vat suddenly got to make his last flight on his beloved B747 of KLM. Date tuesday 17th of March The airliner took decision to speed up with phasing out the 747’s at the end of March instead of May 2021.
