First Officer Martin Sievers and Captain Rod ten Berg made their last ‘Toronto Flight’ on KLM B747. In view of the 90% decline in flights and anticipated future capacity, KLM previously decided in early March that it would phase out its remaining Boeing 747s in April 2020, instead of in the summer of 2021. Wingroll Salute // Last MEX Flight on 747 @ FO Danny v Nierop

First Officer Danny van Nierop suddenly had to make his 747 Farewell flight to MEX. In view of the 90% decline in flights and anticipated future capacity, KLM previously decided in early March that it would phase out its remaining Boeing 747s in April 2020, instead of in the summer of 2021. On Monday 23rd of March he departed with flight KL685 and operated with the B747-Fullpax reg PH-BFN. On this flight Captain Gerard Timmermans  was  his ‘Wingmen’ and PF (pilot flying) ……………….and supplied us with that phenomenal ‘wingrol salute’.
