Last ‘Ladies Flight’ on 747 @ Shanghai

A very special ‘747 ladies flight’to Shanghai. In order of our Dutch Government KLM was asked to fly to Shanghai for important medical cargo. Right now there is a special cargo bridge between Amsterdam and China. There are 5 weekly flights. AMS-ICN-PEK  (2x) and AMS-ICN-PVG (3x) The first PVG-Shanghai flight was operated at 23rd of March. And it was a female crew operating KL895. Captain Sibbelien de Laere,First Officer’s Helen Hüpscher-Bakker and Sabine den Hollander,Second Officer Ilana Iskander. Wingroll Salute // Last MEX Flight on 747 @ FO Danny v Nierop

First Officer Danny van Nierop suddenly had to make his 747 Farewell flight to MEX. In view of the 90% decline in flights and anticipated future capacity, KLM previously decided in early March that it would phase out its remaining Boeing 747s in April 2020, instead of in the summer of 2021. On Monday 23rd of March he departed with flight KL685 and operated with the B747-Fullpax reg PH-BFN. On this flight Captain Gerard Timmermans  was  his ‘Wingmen’ and PF (pilot flying) ……………….and supplied us with that phenomenal ‘wingrol salute’.
