Captain Steven Verhagen made his last flight due to retirement at KLM. A very special occasion because of the medical circumstances. Steven’s retirementflight got operated by captain Paul Driessen, first officer Ruud van der Wal and second officer Mark Brinkman as his ‘Wingmen’. The cabincrew got leaded by senior purser Petra Hop. Captain Fernando made his last flight due to retirement at KLM. Joined by his beloved wife Helouise and their children Capetown was the destination. Flight KL597, callsign KLM119-Heavy, got a push & pull at stand Echo 19, tail long pushback with tail to the tower and a pullout into Alpha 16. After a career of 31 years and 10 months Captain Thijs Jongsma got his last flight due to retirement at KLM. JFK was his first and his last destination !!! How wonderful.
