Last flight of Captain Robert Adriaens @ KLM

Captain Robert made his last flight due to retirement at KLM. His ‘Wingmen’ were F/O Gert Jan Blaauwendraat and S/O Frank Coumans. Final destination on this retourflight was JNB – Johanneburg. Pilots call this a ‘Joburg’. Flight KL509 , AMS-JNB , stand Echo75 and RWY18L. This was a ‘Cargoflight’ and operated with a B777-200 reg PH-BQN. Final and backflight KL592 got a RWY18R arrival,operated with a B777-300ER reg PH-BVS. When entering the Dutch airspace the callsign of KL592 changed to ‘Robert-One’     Videostills……………..

Impressive Wingroll Salute // Last 747 & Retirementflight @ Captain Jan Bons

Captain Jan Bons made his last 747 flight and retirementflight together at one retourflight to Curacao. In view of the 90% decline in flights and anticipated future capacity, KLM previously decided in early March that it would phase out its remaining Boeing 747s in April 2020,instead of in the summer of 2021. Captain Henk van den Brink made his last 747 flight as retirementflight. With an enormous career as 747 pilot and Captain. Henk started as ‘Captain B747’ at July 1982 and made his last 747 flight after 37 years and 10 months. An amazing career and state of duty for KLM. Last flight of Captain B747 Lulof Beumer @ KLM

Captain Lulof Beumer made his last flight due to retirement at KLM. Some colleages call him ‘The Tom Cruise of the KLM B747’ Togethether with his good friend and First Officer Peter Westerneng and Second Officer Ilana Iskander. Flight KL601 heading to LAX was operated by the B747Combi reg PH-BFW. RWY24 Sierra7 for departure with a marvellous wingroll salute after rotation.  They also call it a ‘rock to the wings’.
